Starting early in life, Josh developed a love for plants from his grandmother. She would give him jobs to do in her garden and taught him how to do them. As he grew up in a typical Florida neighborhood he began to do gardening jobs for most of his neighbors. All of these jobs eventually turned into a business. Over the course of many years he began to see the need to make a pivot from conventional ways of landscaping and gardening. Noticing how damaging synthetic fertilizer, chemicals and invasive plants were to the health of the Florida ecosystem, he began to research more sustainable methods.  After many books and years of hands on experience, he and his wife Stephanie started Florida Sustainable Landscapes with the ultimate goal of being the best stewards of their time and resources in order to provide the highest level of service while carefully caring for the delicate ecosystems and restoring interactions between people and all forms of nature.
